AFL-CIO launches digital training program
Have you heard of #1u?
Don’t worry if you haven’t-- it’s not a secret password. In fact, it’s the hashtag that labor folks use to talk about anything union related on Twitter. And I want lots of labor folks to know exactly what #1u means.
The more labor folks learn how to use all the tools in our internet toolbox, the more we’ll reach a wider audience and win. And that starts by learning what the heck this stuff is, or sharpening our skills if we’re well acquainted.
I'm excited to announce the AFL-CIO's Digital Training Series- for those of you who are wondering what the heck Twitter is and for those of you who know all the ins-and-outs of digital organizing and want to take things to the next level.
In our first month, we’re offering trainings that will help you convince your boss to invest in digital work, how to set up a Twitter or Facebook account, how to write great emails that make people take action, and the basics of good graphic design. It’s a pretty packed schedule, but it’s all via webinar to make it easy for you to join in wherever you are.
But we’re just getting started. Over the coming months, we’re offering a whole slate of useful trainings that you can apply to your work right away. These will be practical, designed just for a labor audience, and with plenty of time to ask all your questions.
I couldn’t possibly tell you awesome this is in one email, so check it out for yourself and sign up for the trainings before they get full:
