Yvonne Cash- International Representative
In February 2016, Yvonne Cash was appointed by UAW President Dennis Williams as International Representative and assigned to UAW Region 1A under the jurisdiction of Director Rory L. Gamble.
Yvonne began her union activism in 1994 when she was hired at American Axle and Manufacturing and became a member of UAW Local 235. Yvonne held various elected and appointed union positions. She was an elected delegate at the 32nd, 33rd and 34th UAW International Constitutional Conventions.
In April 2010, Yvonne was hired by the State of Michigan and became a member of UAW Local 6000. She immediately began attending UAW Region 1A-2 District meetings and sharing the information from the meetings with her co-workers.
In 2012, she was elected chief steward at her Department of Human Services work location and was appointed to the Oakland County Labor Management team.
In 2013, she was elected to serve on membership council for the Department of Human Services and to the State Wide Labor management team. Yvonne was appointed to assist Local 6000 with “Can We Talk” which was a union initiative that included internal organizing focusing on Right-to-Work; New Member Orientation and recruitment. She also served on various union committees at Local 6000.
Yvonne is assigned to Technical, Office, and Professional (TOP) units for Local 600 and Local 6000. Her council assignments for Region 1A are TOP, Organizing, Community Service, Chaplaincy and the Unity Choir.
Yvonne has a BA Degree from Davenport University and is a graduate of Wayne State Labor School. She is a member of the CBTU (Coalition of Black Trade Unionist) CLUW, (Coalition of Labor Union Women), TULC (Trade Union Leader Council) and the Democratic Party and she has been a precinct delegate in her community since 1998.
